Updates
As has been evident to many of you for a while, Ms. Pepper Potts is joining my staff on a temporary basis beginning August 25th. She has a particularly impressive background with Stark Industries, and I'm sure she'll be a big help to the re-election campaign. CJ, Miles, hopefully you'll both get to meet her soon.
Beth has a theory that the position of my assistant is similar to the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts, and that's why no one lasts very long. Maybe the office is cursed. Maybe I'm cursed.

Dylan's baptism is on Friday. All those not expecting to be cut down by lightning bolts are welcome at the church, but mainly we're having a party afterwards with a good old-fashioned Kansas barbecue. I have even persuaded Jamie to make something for the vegetarians (or, at least, for John - I'm not sure how many others there are).
And that's really all. August in DC is being good to me, I think.
