Lol, I like your little sidebar announcement. The whole point of fantasy is that your world doesn't have to be the same as our world. Or, they could be the same, and there's simply stuff that neither world knows about yet. It's IMAGINARY. That's why they call it "fantasy."
Hm, this story is speeding up! I like! This is going to be exciting. Last story particle, Kenzie commanded Amaranth for the first time, which was out of character, and really shows how much she's grown since the beginning of the story. Now she may have to play the part of the protector, instead of the protected. And why do I get the feeling that Kenzie's gonna end up a mech? Of course, all of us from this world are pre-programmed with a mechanical line of thinking. Biology is a requirement for graduating high school, after all. (at least it is here :/) This strikes me very much as the same argument that has been occurring between the creationists and the darwinians for forever. Lol. I thank you, o dear author, for allowing your loyal readers to come to their own conclusions as to the creation and/or mechanics of your universe. Also, for having a decent plot. ^_^
This is the first time that we really get a glimpse into how Kenzie lived when she was with her grandmother. We also learn that she did live with her mom, however briefly. This is where she gets her repressed streak of rebellion, I think. It will be interesting to see how this little anecdote ties into the story. Right now it seems kinda random...
