Well, she -did- make a point that she's not intimidated that easily by guys at one point... >.>; Easily annoyed, perhaps, but intimidated? Not so much.

poor mack is going to this dance because she thinks its the normal thing to do. i think she prolly has a checklist of things she thinks will make her more normal if she completes them.

I don't think anything will come of this other than more confusion. i.e., she discovers she likes Ian and, more specifically, boys, which will be simultaneously a "relief" and bewildering, as well as making her feel guilty because of her relationship with Amaranth, which she isn't even sure exists.

To the contrary. When was the last time Mack thought about boys for any other reason than to convince herself she's straight? She's gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide. She just doesn't believe it yet.

Just wanted to note the error with -ing here. I'm pretty sure there was another instance before this one, but I couldn't seem to find it on the second read-through.

As for the story, meh, she can do better than Ian, surely? The schmuck seems to have one foot permanently implanted in his mouth.

Pfft. If he -didn't- have his foot in his mouth, i'd be suspicious of him. Mack certainly spends a lot of time eating her foot when she's around the girls.
