Note: This entry is not Japan-related, instead it contains heavy image spamming, squeaking and raving.
It's my sister's 18th birthday next week and to celebrate her coming-of-age the whole family went to *drummroll* Disneyland Resort Paris (≧▽≦)ノ
...By car...(='.'=)12 hours... orz
BUT of course it was worth it, because first of all it has been ages since all 4 of us went on vacation together and second, because Disneyland is MAJOR RABU ♥
So the 4 of us spent 3 wonderful days squeaking about Disney characters walking by, screaming on rollercoasters, laughing at the pictures they take when the rollercoaster dashes off and freezing in the bitter cold.
Yes. It was cold. Freezing. Thanks to that fact most people decided not to queue for any of the attractions, which meant less then 5 minutes waiting time for us, who didn't care *harhar*
It was raining the first day, all the more we were releived to see that day 2 and 3 were almost cloudless (but even colder).
And because Christmas is approaching (in Germany since August, judging by the fact I bought my first gingerbread this year right after I came back from Japan), many parts of the parks (Disneyland and Disney Studios) were Christmas themed. Hooray. No, honestly. Me and my sister are total suckers for christmas trees, candles, choir songs and stuff...
The castle
Apparently, every Disney resort has a different castle. The one in Paris is Sleeping Beauty's castle, which comes with square trees and a dragon in the vault XD
The castle at daytime, in the evening and illuminated after the special "Enchanted Candleabration", a kind of ceremony in which the Disney characters were celebrating Christmas and the 15th anniversary of Disneyland Paris.
It was so sweet and beautiful it almost made me cry (。;´Д`;。)
The parade
They had several parades, but we only got to see one: "Disney's Once Upon A Dream Parade"
Last but not least even Father Christmas joined the parade Σ(゚□゚(゚□゚*)
Meet the characters
It's was a must for me and my sister to get some pictures with the characters. I bow before all those poor college students people wearing those costumes. It's hard to be "in character" all the time, I guess. Tigger, for example, as a very outgoing character must be quite tiring... Ooooh, but I wanna have one of those shiney dresses the princesses wore on the parade (´∀`人)ゃぁω
My sister and me with Winnie and Eeyore ♥
We had pictures with Pluto and Mickey, as well (o^艸^o) ~ ♥
Mickey, cruising around on Town Square XD
The attractions
Even if you don't like Disney, I can highly recommend the attractions, especially Space Mountain Mission 2 and Haunted Mansion in Disneyland and Rock'n'Rollercoaster and Crush's Coaster in Disney Studios... Weheeee \(^∀^)/
Haunted Mansion. I love that building. I'm not too fond of ghost trains and horror movies, but I love the architecture, the gardens and all those tiny details they added to create that eery atmosphere ♥
But still, the part on ghost trains I'm most afraid of are the people working there sneaking around to scare you... (o.O||) The elevator boy in haunted mansion gave me the creeps. He didn't wear a hat but for some reason you couldn't see his eyes. He stood still against the wall, barely moving. Then the light went out --- and as they turned on again ... He was standing right in the middle of our group. I was so scared that I grabbed my sister's arm as hard as I could... I think she got marks from that...
By far my favourite shot: My mother and my sister on Big Thunder Mountain. Doesn't it look like a shot from one of those ads? XD
My mother and me in one of Mad Hatter's Tea Cups, apparently being very happy.
Etcetera
Even though my parents usually aren't that much into Disney, I think they got infected by me and my sister squeaking around XD
I had almost forgotten how much I love spending time with my family ♥
The four of us in front of the main entrance.Plase note the fancy "Slip Hazard" cone on the left as well XDD
My sister, my father and me with one of the Lumière stand uo displays. Lumière was some kind of mascot for the 15th anniversary celebration.
Cinderella's fountain. Another detail I instantly fell in love with.
And last but not least
Another shot of the castle. Because it's just so darn pretty.
