You might wanna ask at the lj group "loversfaraway". I know that there are at least a few people there who met through online gaming, and you might be able to find some answers to your questions there.

Also try the World of Warcraft and Steam (specifically Team Fortress) forums! I'm sure there's a few sweethearts that met hacking/blowing the living shit out of one another and are public about it.
