1. The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins (526 pp.) - This book just took forever to get through, although especially for the time it was written, it was actually quite a good mystery. I preferred it to most other mysteries because it wasn't meant to be meaningless beach reading drivel with a shocking ending, but because you can read it as an actual piece of literature that happens to come with a twist. The twist is actually pretty good, but not quite shocking enough to warrant how damn long the book is.
