This lady in the library has a funny looking gut

Just thought I'd touch base on what my weekend was like, I'll most likely post this in myspace as well.

I threw up at WOU Mania Thursday night, went home, wasn't feeling well still. Tayo called the doctor and she wanted me to come in because I was having stomach pains that were worse than any cramps this lady has ever felt (which she decided later was contractions). While getting packed to got to the hospital, I puked again. For those of you who know me, I get embarrassed when I throw up, even if I'm by myself, lol. Tayo & I have learned to pack whenever we have to go to the hospital late because 98% of the time, we end up staying 1 or 2 nights there.

So we packed up & headed to the hospital. Sure enough, we had to stay the night. I spent the whole night hooked up to crazy monitors and the IV. The doppler machine that monitors the baby's heartbeat and movement was loud as hell so everytime Ava kicked, or moved, Tayo nearly fell off the couch. The machine that was monitoring my contractions let us know ahead of time when the contractions were about to come. The last thing I want to hear is "Here comes another one!". Doctors are so silly.

I got discharged Friday morning and I still felt like crap. What the doctors were concerned was a pre-term labor was false, and I was suffering with some kind of gastrointestinal illness, basically the flu. It was causing my uterus to contract, hence the pain. I was supposed to stay in bed until I felt better. Which still isn't today, but I had to go to work to make that money. I'm definitely growing up. Part of growing up is going to work when you are so sick that your boss tells you to go home and you stay anyway because you know that even if it's only $50 more on your paycheck, you'll need it.

Thursday marked 27 weeks of pregnancy, which brought me into my 3rd trimester, which was also the same day that all of this madness occurred. I really hope that I don't have a hard 3rd trimester as some mothers stories I have heard. For summer mommies, doctors say the more weight you carry, the hotter and more frustrating your pregnancy will be. So far, I've gained 13 pounds, and my baby is 2 pounds, which is perfect for a 6 month old fetus. It doesn't seem like I'll be gaining another 25 pounds before this is all over with. My doctor says 25 pounds is ideal for pregnancy weight gain and that's probably where I'll be, so I only have about 12 pounds to go.
