He dreams of blue eyes staring at him, red curls caressing his features, a soft voice whispering “I love you” with a British accent. And he inhales the sweet aroma of chocolate, he tastes it.
“Daniel, you have to wake up” - she suddenly says. “They’re coming”
“They don’t understand”
The noises of the jungle fade out, and he holds her tight, wanting her to stay forever. He gently wipes the single tear running down her pale face.
“I know you’re real, Charlotte”
She’s about to say something, but then medicine runs violently through his veins.
He screams, his eyes are still closed -- just to kiss her once again.
