My last post, about not getting paid, has been resolved. But it's a long story. In a nutshell, I wrote the minister, stirred up a lot of shit in the public service, cried at work and got a cheque by the end of the day. A lot of people got in trouble and I feel like an asshole, but i got my 6 weeks worth of pay, finally.
But right now, I'm interested in finding out all there is to know about iPods. I am thinking about buying Alec one for christmas, but I want to make an informed decision. He has hundreds of songs on his computer, and I want to get him a machine he can easily transfer music onto.
I like the idea of photos and maybe calender/scheduling, but that's really not necessary. He's a musician, and obsessive about music and I'm sure he'd rather have a practical machine that holds a lot of music.
So, anyone willing to give me a brief opinion on ipods vs other mp3 players? I am looking at $150-$180, so the iPod Nano looks good to me. It's only a 2GB player, but it has photos. Not sure if it has any other useful function. The iPod also appeals because I can buy a lot of fun accessories.
But the reviews say the battery life sucks and it scratches easily. Anyone have alternative players to look at? The Sandisk Sansa 4GB MP3 Player is on sale right now, but I don't know anything about it.
