All right folks. It's October, which means it's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My annual reminder for every one to get their yearly check-ups!
This isn't just a reminder for the women on my list. Breast cancer affects us all, including men...not just when your wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and friends are diagnosed - but men can also have breast cancer.
Some important links that you can check out:

Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. I am... I never post this to scare anyone. I just I love you all and it's very important to me. Cancer is a horrible disease, any type. Cancer has taken all four of my grandparents from me and gave me and my dad and brother one helluva scare this past spring when we thought my mom had ovarian cancer. The disease has affected so many people that I love. So, please...take care of yourselves. Get the check ups. The old saying "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is not just a saying...it's words to live by, literally.
*hugs*
And because I can't ask you to do it if I don't and since I believe in leading by example, I'm telling you all that I am making the phone call today (as soon as the office opens) to schedule my yearly breast and pelvic exam. My least favorite appointment (aside from the dentist) but the most important. [ETA: December 11th. WHEE!]
