A reminder...

Oct 11, 2007 12:53

This morning I read my friend admiralandrea's journal and it reminded me that it's a very important month, and a very important time of the year. I've been distracted and so I've forgotten to post this...but it's here now and I hope it will remind others as well. I also ask that you please keep Andi's mom in your thoughts, prayers, and general good wishes.

This isn't just a reminder for the women on my list. Breast cancer affects us all, including men...not just when your wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and friends are diagnosed - but men can also have breast cancer.

Some important links that you can check out:

Become an Advocate or Volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. I am...

This is not to scare anyone...it's because I love you all and it's very important to me. Cancer is a horrible disease, any type. Cancer has taken all four of my grandparents from me and it has affected so many people that I love. So, please...take care of yourselves. Get the check ups. The old saying "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is not just a saying...it's words to live by.

*hugs*

PS: Because I can't ask you to do it if I don't and since I believe in leading by example, I'm telling you all that I just scheduled my yearly breast and pelvic exam for Friday October 19th. Not my favorite appointment of the year - but an important one.
