A quaint afternoon as I wait for the train to work. Started reading Wizard's First Rule, seems good enough so far. I notice a person approach me in my peripheral vision. After a moment or two, she lightly pokes my elbow. I gently glance up from reading to a middle-aged woman with ice blue eyes and blond hair. She's dressed as a jogger might be, and seems nice enough. "Hi," she intones. "Hi," I reply, curious as to where this is going. "Are you a Pixie?" Not quite the conversation I was expecting to have, but she asks me with utmost sincerity.
"Not that I know of..." I respond with a smile. "Maybe you are." She replies, circling around me to lean on the railing. "There are few Pixies left," she finishes before boarding the next train. So there I stand, trying to figure out what would make her think I was a Pixie.
On the train to work, some older gentleman starts reciting the Bible out of the blue. This happens a lot in the city; but something he said particularly caught my interest: "Treat others as you wish to be treated." Should I preach to him, then, as he has done to me?
Quickly after I enter work, a co-worker that I kinda sorta liked bounds over and tells me that she reallly likes friend of mine. So I find myself dejectedly playing matchmaker at her behest =P The kicker is, during the day, she said "I like guys like..." and realized, midst pointing at me, that she was pointing at me, and couldn't bring herself to say my name because I was standing right there =)
