Canadian Pride!

Sep 19, 2004 22:15

Dudes, I'm so proud of our country: in the past week, our national hockey team brings home the GOLD in the WORLD CUP (oh hockey, how i will miss you) and MANITOBA LEGALIZES GAY MARRIAGE. Which is, you know, FUCKING AWESOME.

Oh, and the second Canadian Idol has been crowned. That's kind of cool, too.

*blushes, changes the subject*

So, what Gordon Lightfoot song are you listening to?

"If you could read my mind". Although I told myself I'd stop listening to it after it almost screwed me over that one time. Oh well. Great song.

Great song. And your version of it was awesome.

*laughs* Believe it or not, that was one of the hardest things I've ever done. When I was auditioning? Completely blew my voice on that song. Couldn't even talk anymore. So conquering it was important.

Thanks. Your version was fucking fantastic too.

I remember that. My sisters made me watch CI, I swear!

*laughs a bit* Thanks. Apples and oranges, eh?

I audtioned as a joke. Funny how these things work out. Then I just got so sucked in to this year's: it's like a sick addiction. You'd think I would have been done with the franchise after all the crap, but no: you just keep going back. It's fucking ridiculous.

Haha...yeah kid. I guess it was.

That's how Jacob ended up in Idol, too. Funny how these things follow a pattern. Does that make me Ryan?

Did he? Haha...oh, that's funny. He was extremely talented, that one.

I don't know...do you weigh less than a sack of potatos, dance like you're stomping roachs and have an overblown adoration for Avril Lavigne?

Yes, he certainly is.

Yes, probably and thank god, no.

Probably a very good thing then: Malcolm's been whining about how you're replacing him in every way. I tell him not in every way but once he goes all fucking emo and shit it's really hard to stop him.

Has he? Ugh. I can't replace anyone and I don't want to. He can keep the title.

*laughs* Malcolm's a nut. It's only been what, three weeks? Hating it already?

Knock some sense into him for me, will you? Not even three weeks yet, has it? I don't know. I don't hate it, but I'm sure that you got to see what it was like for Ryan. And I'm sure it was hard, right?

*laughs again* I don't know, Malcolm liked the experience, I think, so I was happy for him. The only downside was that he was busy and I didn't get to see him for long stretchs of time. That was the only hard part.

It's a neat experience, but it sort of sucks too. Being away from home and my family and all. Hopefully I'll enjoy it eventually if Ryan did...touring might be kinda cool.

Don't say I didn't warn you guys: didn't I tell you that you should all aim for third? Anyway, best of luck kid: I'm sure it'll be great for you in due time.
