I'm just posting in this community because it looked lonely and I don't want Amanda carrying all the weight.
If anyone doesn't have it, you should pick up Douglas Coupland's "Souvenir of Canada." It's a collection of images and thoughts about being Canadian, like pictures of Honey Bee corn syrup spilling onto a table hockey game, and observations like "Headlights: We drive with them on all the time.
