It's official. Several witnesses saw hundreds of Saudi military vehicles headings towards Bahrain in the afternoon. One said that the road to the causeway was blocked after the last traffic light from Abu Hedrea road to allow the troops to cross.
An unnamed Saudi military official told Aljazeera that 1000 troops has crossed to Bahrain. Other Gulf countries might be sending in troops as well.
Things are going to hell quite fast. Now Iran has the temptation to jump in and the whole scene will just explode! Heck, many are citing this (potential Iranian involvement in Bahrain) as the reason for the troops to be sent in. Would you think the American 5th Fleet would sit there if this was the case? Nevertheless, Iran seems to be the modern Emmanuel Goldstein in the eyes of the GCC.
