Sorry it's been so long. I was in Wisconsin for a few days at UMR-ACUHO. Man, that was a blast. I'm now no longer dreading OPE, or moving into a pro staff position. I knew that I could do it before, but to hear programs talking about supervision and staff development (basically letting me know that I already had a bunch of really good ideas), I think I can do it. Right now, I know my strengths and areas that need strengthening, and I'm looking at schools that can help me develop those areas that I'm weaker. Yay for excitement!
tjoppelt is coming up to Cedar Falls this weekend and we're gonna watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! While GoF is not my favorite of the six books, it's in the top three. More importantly, this is the first in the series of movies where the director is actually British, so I'm very intrigued in seeing how an Englishman will put forth his vision of the movies. The previews look pretty badass, so it should be very enjoyable. I'd also like to see "Walk the Line" sometime this weekend if it's possible.
I was hoping to see the UNI home basketball opener (against Western Carolina) on Sunday, but I just got an e-mail from the UNI Activities Office. It's a "home" opener at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Well, I guess I'll wait until they come back to the Dome.
For those of you who wondered, this is how I would order my favorite Harry Potter books.
1. Prisoner of Azkaban
2. Half-Blood Prince
3. Goblet of Fire
4. Chamber of Secrets
5. Sorceror's/Philosopher's Stone
6. Order of the Phoenix
And just because OotP is my least favorite doesn't devalue it's worth of a book. It's just my least favorite of the six.
I'm also thinking about going into a bachelor's level hall director job as a transition to grad school. My friend Josh is doing that right now at UT-Arlington. I've got the Horowitz list of residence programs and what their benefits/requirements are for live-in jobs. Right now, LSU doesn't look like a bad school, or UT-Austin, for that matter. Schools that I wouldn't have considered are now getting added to the list of places that I'm interested. But, maybe that's because I'm already sick of the cold weather and wouldn't mind going to a place that doesn't frequently have snow!
Last night was a bitch, I don't know why I ever considered schools in the northern tier (Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas). But, if they offer me a good package, I guess I'd still consider it.

My brain's a little more scattered than normal. Please forgive me.
