Official Raffle Announcement!
It's the Second Muskrat Jamboree Charity Raffle!
Here's how it works: raffle tickets will be on sale throughout the weekend. You buy tickets to win prizes that have been donated by your fellow attendees. The more tickets you buy, the greater your chances to win!
After the con is over, we take the money that YOU donated (every single cent!) and pass it along to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins sans Frontières. MSF provides independent, impartial assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict. They do so irrespective of race, religion, creed or political convictions. 100% of the proceeds from the raffle will go to MSF. In 2009 our attendees donated $1,060 to MSF.
In addition to raffle tickets, we will also be "selling" a limited number of special edition MJ 2011 earrings made by strangecobwebs. The minimum price for a pair of earrings is $1, although you can pay more if you'd like. The proceeds from the sale of the earrings will also be going to MSF.
Your fellow fangirls have donated some absolutely amazing items this year as prizes for our raffle. We have jewelry and knitted accessories that have been hand-made by SUPER talented craftswomen. We have brand new books and DVDs in our favorite genres. We have special edition MJ 2011 stuff. And, in addition to all of these awesome items (and more!), this year's grand prize is a brand new Kindle E-Reader. Take your favorite books and fanfic with you wherever you go!
Tickets for the Raffle are $1 each. BUT! If you spend $10 you get 12 tickets, and if you spend $20 you get 25 tickets!! Raffle tickets will be on sale in the Rustic Kitchen during pre-registration on Thursday, March 31st between 7 and 9pm. They will also be on sale at the Reg Table between 8am and 4pm on Friday, April 1st, and between 9am and 2:59pm on Saturday, April 2nd.
The Raffle drawing will be held in the Con Suite at 3pm on Saturday, April 2nd. You DO NOT have to be present to win- so don't worry about missing an awesome panel! However, you (or a designate) must present the winning tickets at the Reg Table before 4:45pm on Saturday.
