Thank you, dear muskrats, from the very bottom of our hearts, for helping to make this past weekend spectacular. Our goal was to go out with a bang and we hope you feel like we accomplished that. It's been a hell of a ride, from a sketchy Holiday Inn in Somerville to the excellent Muskradisson downtown to the lovely Le Meridien in Cambridge. We appreciate every single one of you - the all-five-MJs Original Muskrats, those of you who made it to a few, and those of you for whom this year was your very first Jamboree. We've said it all along: the con is what you make of it, and you all made the most of it.
Thank you, again, to all of our fantastic volunteers, to all of our dedicated panel mods, to our friends who volunteered time and services to help support our varied needs, to our generous donors who created the Muskrat Scholarships. To all of you who donated the items to our raffle, and to all of you who bought raffle tickets. To all the vidders who let us show their vids.
Special thanks to
shoemaster, who valiantly led the last muskrat rendition of Barrett's Privateers. And to
estrella30, for creating the Muskrat Memories book and making us cry with her speech at the vid show.
Eight years, five jamborees. Dance parties, vid shows, room parties, flash panels, and so much love, you can't even quantify it. It's been a fantastic run. Thank you for helping us go out on a high note.
(And we're sure the ACTUAL Muskrat Jamboree in Inuvik will be very, very happy to get their event back.)
If you didn't get a chance to sign the Muskrat Memories book, feel free to comment here with your favorite memories from MJ - we'd love to hear from you.
Muskrats, it may no longer be go time (with an arrow. pointing down.), but you can't say we didn't give it our all. We hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have. ♥ ♥ ♥
