Muskrat Jamboree Charity Raffle
This is a RAFFLE POST!
Every con so far, Muskrats have done an amazing job of contributing to our fun fun raffle. This year, as we have in the past, we will be raising money to benefit Doctors Without Borders/Médecins sans Frontières. If you're unfamiliar, MSF is non-profit and a neutral organization, dedicated to providing independent, impartial assistance to impoverished or war torn regions. 100% of our proceeds will go to MSF, so let's beat last years totals, and Raffle hard!
Every year, we are all overwhelmed and grateful by the response from con-goers, and we're very excited to see what comes up this year. Some examples of donations in the past have included: a kindle, diva cups, handmade scarves and blankets, brand new and/or unopened collectables, and much much more!
If you're interested in donating an item to be included as a prize for the raffle, here are a few guidelines:
Most of us are coming to the con with our fancy dresses, IDs, bail money and not much more so keep in mind that anything you donate will have to be carted out by someone so please keep it portable!
The con comm wants all participants to ooh and ahh when they walk by the prizes so when you're selecting a donation, make it something YOU'd be excited about winning. As much as we appreciate that you're willing to give up your dented toaster, that may not inspire the level of enthusiasm we're hoping for.
drlense and I will be responsible for collecting the donations at the hotel itself, as we are limited by our muskrat-sized cars and homes, and can't store items beforehand. We'll take it off your hands once you get it there, and display it for the con to see.
As in years past, tickets for the raffle will be available at the reg table, both on Thursday night downstairs in The Loft, and Friday and Saturday upstairs in the Con Suite. More details about purchasing raffle tickets will come later.
