Dear Nation's Editorial Cartoonists (Not all of you But some of you - you know who you are),
We GET it. "Change" (to alter the form, nature, content, future course, etc.,) is the same word as "Change" (small denominations of money and/or to give or get smaller money in exchange for). Ha ha. Funny. Clever...when we were all TEN YEARS OLD, and first heard such jokes decades ago.
Seriously, some of the stuff you find on Laffy Taffy wrappers is cleverer than this. Honest. What's next? "Tooth Hurty" gags?
Really...c'mon. It's even a lame, already-cliched play on words in the context of THIS ELECTION ALONE, let alone in the full light of history. "Change" gags were passe when they were being done about Hillary's cash-strapped campaigning two months ago. I'm no historian, but
Bernie Wrightson was doing stuff like that three decades ago: I'm confidently sure it was old back then, too.
Can we just stop the "Change" gags now? Please? Can we take them out behind the woodshed and put them out of their misery? Pretty please?

QUICK! Before the George Carlin obits run!
NAME THE CLICHE!
What overused Carlinism will cartoonists fall back on, as George stands before the gates of Heaven, in the majority of the nation's editorial cartoons today and tomorrow?
(Always remembering that Carlin would probably be horrified at such cartoons in the first place).

By the way...speaking of Editorial Cartoons...
I'm no theologian, but...since when does God have WINGS?
