My previous post was on my daddy. now THIS post will be on my mummy :) haha. I sound like such a little girl.

[edit] Warning: This Is A Long Entry [/edit]

At 7:30 am in the morning, I had a drifting-in-and-out of consciousness chat with my mum. Lol. Then cos my younger sister was going to BRMC at 10:30, my dad was headed for the temple (my late grandfather's 100th day...), my youngest sister was too late for church, my maid was going out for the day and my mum needed to send my other set of grandparents to the Changi jetty (they're going to Bintan! Lucky!), my mum sent me to the YCK station and we talked a bit more along the way.

I was late for church! (By 15 mins! and they made us wait outside :() I missed all the worship. -cries- next week I'll wake up earlier. Church was good though. Even though the sermon is completely printed out (and inserted into the church bulletin and you can read it by yourself), I think the message evoked strong emotions in me to not give up at this point in time.

Hebrews 11:22 - 12:3

v11:40 - 12:3

God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that's so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat at the right hand of the throne of God.

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

I'm really thankful that everytime I hit a wall or feel super discouraged, God never fails to bring me a verse or a reading that will encourage me. And as I was reading through Come Thirsty by Max Lucado, I read this paragraph that says "And be encouraged. God's ways are always right. They may not make sense to us. They may be mysterious, inexplicable, difficult, and even painful. But they are right. "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28)"

Isaiah 40:28-31

Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the Everlasting God.
The creator of the ends of the Earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength
They will soar on wings like eagles
they will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not be faint.

How Amazing is God? Extremely! :D

Mum picked me up from the station and we decided to head to something different, something less up-market. Just the 2 of us. (My youngest sister and Dad were at home and my younger sister was out with friends.) Enough of walking around Vivo and Marina Square and Topshop and all that jazz. Let's head to Metro or Isetan she suggested. I agreed and we decided on Tampines Mall. I haven't been there since I was primary 5 I think, how deprived I am. We parked and got out to find food. Settling on Din Tai Fung, I think the food there is pretty good but ouch, its expensive! :( I told mum I was sorry for choosing such an ex place and she was like.. its okay, I'm feeling generous today. Lol. We had double-boiled chicken soup, Xiao Long Bao (finally, I know what xiaolongbao's are! Lol), fried rice and dou miao. It was yummy though. [I think mummy was satisfied with it though because she was said, let's bring your grandparents here. Haha. I'm guessing that means that its good enough for her. x)]

Then we battled crowds and walked around everywhere. Its... SO crowded I almost got dizzy walking around. :S Crowds are bad for me. The shops weren't good, and I didn't really like it. :( Ohwell. Then we walked over to Century Square and settled on kopitiam coffee (I can't believe I declined the offer to drink Starbucks brewed coffee for coffee at the kopitiam! Lol). We chatted (or rather, I did) so much today. Telling her about my entire week, about friends, about life. Hm. Chicken soup for the soul. :)

We walked around Best and Courts and she's going to get me an Ipod Vid for my A's! (even though I feel so bad cos its EX! :( Like $436) Its either that or a new hp. (but I just got a new one). And we're going to buy birkenstocks, new running shoes and all the things I'm gonna need when I go over! (like a mini ricecooker ^.^) And I asked mum whether she could teach me how to cook ALL the chinese food possible before I fly off too. :)

I found Mount Zion at Century Square! I'm going back. Haha. The Saviour King Hillsong CD is so much cheaper than Life Bookshop! :) And I'll probably get more books to read from there. :D wow. I'm happy I found that place. Life bookshop has been kinda disappointing because I can never find what I want there. :(

Now I need to nap before I go to work at SG pools (5-10pm)!

shopping, family, god, thoughts
