#194: rainy days and mondays

Mar 13, 2007 06:09

:D haha. this is going to be a crazy long, boring post. so do scroll right past musique_soul if you feel like it.

yeah. managed to gym in the morning (8:30-10:00)
6.6k+ on the cross trainer
2k running
weights
cycled.

and i'm happy because...I CAN RUN 1K in 5.27min! :D (which means, i can prob do 5K in under 30min! haha. i need to train HARD for that though. :))

lessons today:

chem: Mr. Reynish is hilarious beyong belief. the way he explains things relating to chemistry.

on ionic equilibrium, and regarding weak and strong acids (and the % of dissociation), he says,

"imagine pooja (a girl in my class) has a birthday and heads to the pub. pooja is a popular girl and she has 200 friends. each of them buy a lemon martini (her fave drink) for her. and the whole bar is filled with 200 lemon martinis. roshni (another girl in my class) nicks one. now, would it matter what state pooja would be in the next morning? no. she'll probably be just as shattered...
mary morris (the principal!) has a birthday and mr tiley and miss dewhurst (vice principals) go buy her a drink of lemon martini, so she has 2 drinks. roshni nicks one again. mary will be so devastated because 1/2 her drinks are gone! now do you know the % differences?"

-.- so lame.

physics: experiment

did a interrupted pendulum thingy experiment today. and SILLY me did only 19 oscillations instead of 20. but i didn't know! and i counted that as 20. i happily plotted the graph and all and then down the question paper we had to answer this question:

a student misunderstands the 'count down' technique and counts 'one' instead of 'zero' as the oscillations begin. the student thinks that 20 oscillations are being timed when in actual fact the time recorded is only 19 oscillations. explain what effect this has on the graph.

-.- i'm SUCH an idiot. no wonder my gradient was so out of range.

went online from 3-5 (while doing my laundry) then costa with agnes (i think we spend wayy too much time in costa. but its SUCH a nice place to study/chill/hang out and use free unblocked internet services!) boarders from gwyer have like.. a little gathering there almost every day of the week. :D

went online again for a bit back in the boarding house (managed to chat with my grandparents who are in USA now! but my grandmother sounds SO tired. :( i'm so worried for her)

STUDIED biology module 14.1-14.5 :)) (yay. i'm on track! i hope i don't start slacking off in the middle of the week. which usually happens.)

yearbook phototaking tmw! (everyone's going to wear makeup. should i? shouldn't i?)

whee! clothes are fresh and clean! :D

going to read then sleep!

silly, updates
