Happy Birthday Alaris!
Today is Alaris's birthday (actually, 50mins from this post, but my batt is dying now...). Alaris isn't really Alaris, she is actually Charmaine (ooh this just sounded like a primary kid's composition.)… Okay let's try again. Alaris's real name is not Alaris, it is in fact Charmaine. However, i've been calling her Alaris since we met in Secondary school. =) I have no idea why. She probably managed to successfully brainwash me into doing so. Alaris comes up with very pretty (unpractical) names that most people cannot pronounce but that look very pretty when they are written down. She came up with a name for my far in the future daughter back in secondary school. I don't remember it. =)
Alaris is one of the only two friends that i have kept in contact with after MG. That makes her one half of a very exclusive club. =) In fact, as I am typing this, my wallpaper is a photo that i took with her in jc. =) I shall post that up if i remember. We got to know each other in Sec 3 when we were in the same class. =) She was part of my clique in class, which was another very small exclusive club. We would stick to each other in class and go for recess and home together as well. =) Her photo is in all my birthday albums and quite a bit of my christmas and valentines' day ones too. =)
Every holiday, Alaris and I will try and go out to play together. Sometimes she comes up with a theme for me to dress by. I don't remember what the themes were, but i remember that i didn't adhere very well to them and she got really really angry once. =( These days, I try to look more presentable when i am out with Alaris.
I used to draw for Alaris back in Secondary School. She would call me the flawless commander of the all merciless mermidons. (I hope i didn't get that wrong. It has been a long long time) We shared a sketchpad on which i drew whatever she asked me to draw. =) We wrote stories to go with them… but i no longer have any of that. I hope she still does because i think that they were quite well done. I wonder where they went.
Alaris has grown a lot prettier since Secondary school. =) I have watched her bloom (ooh nifty word) Into a pretty flower. =) I hope this paragraph makes her happy. Even though she does not run or exercise (hurhur) much, she looks very fit and has nicer legs than me. It is a great injustice, but it looks good on her. =) Her dress sense has also matured and become more fanciful. These days, she is into Lolita dressing which is when a bunch of girls try and dress like Victorian tea dolls.
Alaris has a boyfriend. When she first got him, i didn't really like him and i used to twist his name into strange words. But as i got to know him, he seems like a nice guy. =) And he uses a canon dslr, which probably helped to speed up my acceptance of him. These days, he goes to church with us and eats lunch with us afterwards. =) He is going to MIT to study after he ORDs. When i found out about that i was "=OOO 21?" But enough about him and more about her. =)
Alaris has a her own photo album on my computer named "Alaris". VERY VERY few people have that so this should be a testimony as to how important she is in my life. Unfortunately, there are only 8 albums in it, so we should probably go out more during this holiday. The problem with trying to date Alaris out during the holidays, is that she is either 1) Overseas or 2) Fully booked. =( I hope she remembers me when she goes to Japan this december. SIGH.
On Alaris's birthday 4 years ago, we all trooped over to her house and baked an apple cake with her. =P That was fun. I will probably try and bake for her birthday this year after my exams. I hope the baking jinx wears off by then and it will turn out well. What would you like to eat liereicarine? =) And please come for church this sunday? I really really really really hate sitting alone. =(
