OCON '07: Day 2

-- Telluride, CO

I'm just checking in here although there's no surprising news.

I can't seem to get a consensus on our location's altitude. Some say it's 9K uber sea level, and some say it's 10K. All I know is it's dry and hot. Today, it was announced that the entire conference center's A.C. went down, so it's been a little harder for everyone to maintain their concentration.

My second optional class started today. Patricia Corvini is speaking on the nature of numerical concepts, so between that and Dr. Peikoff's D.I.M. hypothesis, today has been a day of mostly hardcore epistemology. (While Miss Corvini was speaking, I was daydreaming about how the material applies to music theory. :-D )

There's wireless access here at the convention center although it's at least as flaky as the access I have at my hotel. We're operating in a village-type of environment, and there's some decent stores here though nothing is cheap. The pizza place which a group of us went to yesterday took an hour to serve us, so I won't be back there again I suppose! There was also live music on another side of the village. Speaking of music, Bob Dylan is coming through the area after the conference is over, but HOT TUNA is playing next Friday I believe. I might possibly check that out since I sort of like JEFFERSON AIRPLANE.

That's all for now.
