Summary: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, and you're just an idiot for thinking I would fall for that.
How long has it been?
Since way back when?
Since the very beginning?
You left with no warning,
You were in such a hurry,
And I was left alone to cry.
A stumble of feet,
We trip on the street,
And look where we are now, darling.
Sitting in this café,
On this warm summer’s day,
It feels like my own fairytale.
You say with a smile,
“Why not stay a while?”
But I know your true intentions.
So I’ll shake my head no,
And say I should go,
I’m not surprised when you don’t follow.
Wooed me with words,
Then threw me to the curb,
You never really were my prince.
I’ve learned from the past,
That this will not last,
And nothing you say can change it.
I’m too good for you,
And the things that you do,
I’m sorry but go find another.
I’m no stupid girl,
At least not any more,
And I can see right past your disguise.
You’ll say that it’s fate,
But it’s already too late,
I’m off to live my own life.
I’ve found someone better,
He’s quick and he’s clever,
A truly wonderful knight.
So save you sweet words,
For those other girls,
I pity them, really, I do.
You’ll cover their eyes,
With illusions and lies,
And then leave before they find out.
So I’ll walk away now,
And show you just how,
I shape my own fate and my story.
Now with my prince,
I give him a kiss,
And live happily ever after.
