[UNIVERSE]
Another one of those universes where Alternia is essentially the same and the Game is played by a separate set of players. [The same session as
advance_us_fair and
flirtkind]
[CHARACTER]
Name: Zurahe Cadens
Role: Bard of Hope
Species: Troll
Age: 6-sweeps-going-on-7
Online Handle: blackoutEtude
Type/Speech: she te~nds to speak in a lil~ti~ng manner, and very ra~rely uses capitalization, though she te~e~e~nds to dra~a~a~g her words out longer and ABUSE THE HELL OUT OF CAPS AND TIL~DES~ WHEN SHE’S A~A~A~ANGRY
She also replaces ‘!’ with ‘♪’ and ‘?’ with ‘♫’ when ty~ping, so her speech is pre~tty~ sing-song♪
Strife Portfolio: axeKind- Mostly battle-axes and one-handed axes, though throwing axes are included, as are (surprisingly) ‘axes’ of the musical variety, i.e. basses/guitars.
knuckleKind- Brass knuckles and spiked/armored gloves/gauntlets, simply enough- though she has alchemized a few interesting versions since the start of the game.
Psychic/Magic/Other Abilities: Like most yellow-blood trolls, Zurahe does in fact have a psychic ability, albeit one that affects her rather than her surroundings. Likely because of her small stature, Zurahe’s ability makes her capable of making herself physically stronger/more resilient, so that she can either deal or take more damage- although never both at once. She’s also learned to channel it through the strings of her bass and can use it in tandem with the soundwaves from the instrument to create shockwaves of a sort.
Derse or Prospit: Derse
SBURB Powers: Basically as the Bard of Hope, Zurahe works like your standard bard character in an RPG. Her songs can heal, grant stat-boosts and power-down enemies to a certain degree. The buffs extend to any players within hearing range unless she’s marked them against it beforehand.

Consorts and Imps: In the Land of Crystal and Light, her consorts were shy indigo foxes who liked gadgetry, and her Lusus’ prototyping gave her session’s imps either wings or talons.
History: Zurahe’s original Lusus (who she never really got to know) was actually devoured by the creatures that eventually wound up being her Lusii. The birds, an Alternian mixture of birds of prey and songbirds, had actually intended to eat her alongside her smaller bird Lusus - but reconsidered when Zurahe, instead of worrying, simply sat and imitated their crooning and singing in her own way- as well as attempting to climb out of their nest to see what lay beyond. Fortunately, they were close enough to her blood color for this not to be an issue, and so Zurahe was raised, instead of in trees, on the face of a cliff (and it surprises no one that she fell off more than once before she got the hang of climbing up it). Her unusual upbringing never struck her as strange until she realized that she had two Lusii instead of one- an uncommon occurrence, but not altogether unheard of- after all, even Lusii had to mate and reproduce. Still, she was always slightly worried others would think her strange if they discovered this, and so became something of a withdrawn troll, usually leaving her hive only to hunt with or for her Lusii- something of a challenge for her.
As she got older, Zurahe began cultivating a love of singing- and therefore of music- because of the songs her Lusii sometimes sang at sunrise and sunset, and the trills they used to communicate over long distances. Because of her blood color, however, the instruments she could afford were cheap and used, but she made do as well as she could. This changed after she met her moirail- a blueblood who helped her to not only get the proper equipment, but also helped her get the means to get more and better when it became available. They met on the outskirts of the woods one night when she’d gone hunting, after she’d been cornered by an indigoblood and his higher-blooded friends. She killed the indigoblood by accident, her previously-unrealized powers manifesting in enough strength to reduce the other troll’s head to a pulp in one blow while he tried to drown her in the river that separated her from escaping back to her cliffs. When the other two came back and tried to attack her for killing him, they were taken down- and almost out- by the blueblooded troll who lived in the woods- she managed to make them stop before he killed them as well, and while the two left with what remained of their ruined pride, she returned to her hive after helping the other troll home with the likely promise of a moirail.
As she got closer to him, and they began to make a point of coming by each other’s hives, and not long after they’d actually become moirails, he introduced her to another troll without even really trying. For quite some time, there’d been a boy who lived on the plains that led to her cliff who would stop on his way past when he heard her singing sometimes- her newly-attained moirail wasted no time in inviting him down to join them, and while that made her another friend, it also eventually gained him a matesprit (and probably the best he could have gotten what with his excellent taste, though her opinion is a little biased). After that, she started meeting more and more trolls via trollian at her moirail’s insistence, to help her get over her shyness- one of them a rather angry red-blood that she discovered lived not too far from her. She went with the intention of meeting him and perhaps making friends- but hesitated and spent the evening watching him instead. It became a habit, over a few nights, then weeks, and every new night she promised she’d introduce herself - but she never did. Not until the night he came under attack by more of Alternia’s nocturnal creatures than he could handle, and she rushed in to help him without thinking.
The introduction (he was Zouti Morton, a low-level psionic, apparently) went awkwardly, and because of his temperament and embarrassment of having to be saved, the boy in question took his irritation out on her- and stunned and hurt and a little confused, she responded the best way she knew how: she got angry right back. It sparked a fight between the both of them, and by the end of the night an unspoken Kismessisitude was in place.
Nothing had ever gone quite so terribly in her life.
So despite her flushed feelings for him, she kept up the pretense of wanting to be his kismesis until she couldn’t any longer, and the confession made things all the more awkward- especially because the boy in question didn’t quite understand how to deal with pity. So she promised to try and help him understand-
And before she could get too far in doing so, the game happened. Thankfully, he came along with her- as did her moirail and his matesprit- and they made their way through the game, sometimes together, sometimes apart. She had just finished with her denizen and was on her way to see him before heading to help with the frogs when the glitch snatched her out of her session.
Personality: Zurahe Cadens is your average young troll- she hunts, she gripes, she picks fights and she’s more than just a little emotionally unstable.
However, the difference between her and most trolls is that, while she is indeed volatile and violent by nature, she isn’t as naturally as violent as is expected- so she plays it up as best she can, and she does it well. In fact, her gentler nature is really only known by three other trolls, as with most other trolls, she tends to keep up the wall of insults and curses that she’s always used to keep from getting too close to anyone. The list of what could be called her ‘friends’ is pitifully short, consisting of perhaps five trolls total, at best- she is in fact painfully shy behind the bravado, and overly cautious about letting anyone discovering that fact as well. She’s ridiculously idealistic when it comes to quadrants, believing firmly in staying true to your quadrants- and finds any kind of dalliance with anyone who isn’t one’s intended to be nothing short of scandalous… although she is also quite interested in hearing/reading about these sorts of things, and in fact tends to thrive on trashy troll romance novels containing similar subjects.
Because of the isolated location of her hive, Zurahe never really had much in the way of ‘neigbors’ and thus very little in the way of face-to-face interaction with other trolls. This about guaranteed that her shyness would present itself when actually faced with any troll she’d never spoken to before- whether it be via trollian or otherwise. Thankfully, she’s been cured of that (for the most part) by her moirail, though she will still spend any first face-to-face meeting with a new troll in seemingly suspicious silence- when in fact, she is usually simply working herself up to actually speak. Despite these hang-ups, she’s a brilliant troll- she has a knack for organization and logistics that would have guaranteed her a rather cushy position for someone of her class had she chosen to pursue it. Unfortunately, she’s also astoundingly stubborn, refusing to apply herself to anything she either doesn’t like or doesn’t want to do, something that would have made her future in adult troll society very difficult.
Her true passion, instead of something more generally accepted in troll society, is music- she’s an astounding composer, though her lyrical abilities are lacking. This also manifests itself in her speech- already awkward as it is because of her personality, she tends to misspeak when she’d frustrated, which leads to angry tirades that she doesn’t really mean because she doesn’t know how to properly convey her aggravation. Though on the surface she does tend to stick to playing songs more typical of what could be called rock (and thus more popular among most trolls) than anything else, she has a few songs of a more emotional sort tucked away, and only a few trolls have heard them or even know of their existence.
For someone who pretends to be as big of a bitch as she is, however, she’s quite friendly when she warms up to others, and doesn’t hesitate to offer help or assistance in any way she can. Because of the incident with the indigoblood when she was younger, however, she has an even greater distrust of higher bloods than most others- the only thing that even permitted her moirailleigance with Ridian is the fact that he tried to stick up for her after the incident itself. With most highbloods (usually those from the more purplish side of blue and higher), she will actually go out of her way to antagonize them if she thinks they’re weak enough for her to take out, and will try and keep out of their way if she thinks they’re not. That’s not to say she won’t eventually learn to trust/like them, simply that it will take much longer and much more effort on their part than it would someone else.
As far as the people she deems her friends/quadrantmates go, she is more than likely one of the most loyal of trolls. Once you’ve earned her friendship or filled one of her quadrants she is difficult to get out of your life. Sometimes she comes across as a bit clingy because of it, but because of how strange she knows she is amongst most of trollkind, she’s quite insecure about keeping the trolls closest to her. She doesn’t like being mistreated or taken advantage of however and doing so is likely to end up with her as a bitter enemy; she doesn’t forgive easily- and is highly unlikely to ever actually forget a betrayal.

Weapons:
knuckleKind-
* Strikethroughs indicate weapons lost upon arrival.
♪ Thunder Knuckle- A pair of what looks to be ordinary, brass knuckles, they channel electricity and when struck against the ground can send currents outward in a circular pattern, though the range is limited.
♪ Kain’s Legacy- A pair of gauntlets that are razor-sharp and are coated in an anticoagulant… even though imps don’t bleed. Curious…
♪ Midnight Star- A pair of spiked knuckles that temporarily rob an opponent of their sight when struck- has only a 30% chance of success.
axeKind-
* Strikethroughs indicate weapons lost upon arrival.
♫ Demon’s Kiss- A reinforced and slightly revamped version of Zurahe’s original Axe-bass. It serves as both a battle axe and a bass, and can actually be separated into two separate axe-heads.
♫ Lithium Flower- Another axe-bass, the backside of the axe-head and neck of the bass are curled with vines that ‘grow’ black flowers- flowers which glow the longer she plays/uses it, building up an electrical charge that can be released as a concentrated beam or a cage-like aural attack.
♫ Stern Angel- An unusual, cross-shaped axe with wings protruding from the handle, it releases ‘halos’ of cutting energy when swung or spun at a high enough velocity.
♫ The Righteous & The Wicked- A pair of dual axes connected by a chain and greatly different in design. The Righteous has a single golden blade inscribed with designs and runes in another language, while The Wicked bears three side-by-side blades that are almost claw-like in shape.
Armor/misc-
High Hopes- Boots with golden wings emblazoned on the side, they allow her to fly, hover and jump higher/longer distances.
A.V.E.S- Audio-Visual Entertainment System. In other words, her fancy-ass visor/headset computer.

Action log:
==> Zurahe : Crash
Too late, you’ve already fucking done that and honestly, you can’t really say you’re too happy about it. Hitting the ground from however high up you were when you landed on this shitty planet hurt- and you’re pretty used to pain by now. At least your fall was slowed by all the goddamn trees it looks like you hit on the way down- and the mass of leaves you eventually landed on when you hit the ground. The soft, sandy ground.
Which decided it needed to deposit itself inside your boots, and has deigned to do so over and over again, no matter how many times you take your boots off and empty them out- so for the moment, you’ve decided to be barefoot out of sheer annoyance. The imps here are no real problem- and you’ve almost taken out one or two of its consorts whenever a fin unexpectedly pops up in the sand nearby, and miss your own fluffy consorts immensely.
Not that you’d ever say that aloud, of course.
Regardless, you soldier on toward the only structure that doesn’t seem to be a pyramid in the nearby area and that you’re hoping is the hive belonging to this planet’s player. You already know this isn’t your session, as none of your teammates had a land this absurd- you would have remembered if they had, since you’d made it a point to visit them all at one point or another just to make sure they weren’t failing magnificently.
You really hope this is where the coder for the program that brought you to this session is though- your fist and their face absolutely have to meet.
