Second half of spring break (condensed as much as humanly possible):
Last Wednesday I drove to UCLA to accompany HHS at Golden State. Frank was able to come up before work and hang out with us at lunch. In the evening I drove to Frank's work and stayed there until he was finished. The next day he and I drove down to San Diego to pick up Luke from his uncle's. We had lunch in Old Town, which was very nice. We drove back to LA and dicked around until the evening when we went to The Groundlings. It was a great night of improv theatre and we finished off the night with drinking games back at Frank and Jessi's. Friday morning was somewhat lazy until the four of us headed out to Hemet to see Anne Frank. It was off to In-N-Out after that and then to Marshmallow and then Erick's. After a blazing fire, we headed back to LA at 4 am. Frank had to get up early for work, but Jessi, Luke and I slept in. Later that evening we went to Denny's (there's a hostess there named Chinaporn) and then directly to Laugh Factory. It was hillarious stand-up with comedians such as Dane Cook and Adam Ferrara. Frank drove Luke to the airport early Sunday morning. That afternoon Frank drove me to Hemet to pick up some stuff and eat dinner and then we drove down to UCSD.
It was awesome having Frank visit my school, if only for a short while. He drove back Monday morning, and I was off to classes. What a day. First, it was like 90 degrees. Second, I had class from 1 to 5, with a 3-hour composition class in there! I then had rehearsal from 5 to 11. I was so wiped out.
John Kerry was visiting UCSD at the PC today, but I didn't get to go because I had to show up for an early music class which was cancelled anyway. I was pissed off. But then I realized that I didn't really want to be crowded in a group of people for an hour listening to what I've already heard on TV a dozen times.
It was a fantastic spring break, and I didn't even have to travel anywhere exotic. Take that Cancun!
