The team in charge of scheduling at my work is a bunch of freaking morons.

School has started. I told them well in advance that once school started I would need Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday off. I told them all shifts needed to be a minimum of 5 hours (cause they like to do stupid things like schedule us for 4 hour shifts), and I was to be scheduled for no more than 23 hours for the time being. I am a 20-29 hour employee, so that should not have been an issue at all. I also told them I prefer to be off by 4:30 on Sundays so I can have dinner with my parents. This wasn't a requirement, just a preference.

September schedule was just emailed to me.

For every week of September I am scheduled only 15 hours a week. Typically 3-8pm Sunday, Thursday and Friday. With a couple of the shifts being 3:30-8:30.

This pisses me off because earlier this week I proposed to them to schedule me three 8 hour shifts (I would concede the extra hour from my previously stated requirements), so long as the 4th day off of the week fell on either Sunday or Thursday, they could choose which. They told me no they wouldn't do it cause they didn't want to further restrict my availability. Yet they go and fucking give me every Saturday in September off? My way was better you dumbasses. It was better because they have a tendency to send out emails asking people to work through their lunches for overtime cause call volumes are high. So being able to schedule me for 8 hours would help that need ever so slightly.

I need to think about this and decide if I should demand they rerun the schedule to give me more hours. I am a 20-29 hour employee they are required to give me at least 20. Problem with that though is right now, I have the option of shift swapping out those Saturdays in exchange for the Sundays with people who currently work Saturday but not Sunday. However, finding someone who works Saturday but not Sunday is extremely rare. Let alone finding 4 people.

I just hate having one lone day off in the middle of the week and then working only one day before I'm off again.

It's amazing how many people work for this company who have all these fancy business degrees yet seem to be so lacking in business sense and human behavior. Our sales and service manager is currently worried about company morale, because employees are leaving faster than new hires can be trained and retained. Well lady, when you put out schedules like this you're damned straight you're gonna have a hrad time retaining people. There's many many other reasons too, but I don't want to go into why and how much my job sucks right now.
