I was staying in Brooklyn this summer and heard about this free show at a venue called the Brooklyn Bowl, which is a bowling lane that also has concerts. The band Locksley was playing. I had heard of Locksley before because they toured with one of my favorite bands, Mae. I had listened to one of their albums before, but I wasn't super familiar with them.
Locksley is a four piece indie band from Wisconsin. Their music is fun and upbeat and sort of reminds me of a music I listened to as a child. On wikipedia, it describes their music as "heavily influenced by early British Invasion bands with an instrumental style based more on early American punk bands and modern garage rock groups".
I thought it was great that the venue was at a bowling lane. The show was a lot of fun and the band had a lot of energy. Their music just makes me happy and feel good.
I even caught the guitar pick one of the members threw out in the crowd at the end. If you haven’t heard of Locksley, definitely check them out. Here's a video I got of them performing:
