lil update
So I haven't updated on how Dave's doing.
He got out of surgery on Wednesday in like, 30 minutes! They were super fast. I thought they'd watch him recover for at least two hours, since they "put him to sleep" (but not under general anesthesia), but they booted him right away so we had to rush him home. He didn't really feel much pain until Friday and Saturday, because the local anesthesia took care of the knee pain. But now he's nervous that the pain he's feeling is abnormal. I keep telling him it's not- he had like three things repaired in his knee. It's gonna be sore.
At first he was being good about not moving around when he's not supposed to, but as the pain was delayed and as he started to get more and more antsy sitting all day, he started to become more adventurous. I have to keep yelling at him to be careful. He thinks it's annoying, but all we need is for him to fall or re-injure himself. Not good for his knee, not good for our wallet or our sanity. Just be careful!
Everything else is the "same", although it all feels crazier since I have to help Dave a little. It's sort of like having a baby, except WAY easier. It's hard to explain. He's pretty self-sufficient, but the extra time it takes to help him shower and get out the door really makes a difference to someone like me who is already rushing and late and anxious. When I get in the door after a long day I have to catch up on things he's been going without, all day long. This is why we're not having a baby, yet! I can't even take care of myself!
