Normally I try to update this thing every sunday; yesterday it slipped my mind so here I am keeping things in order (such as they are). Yesterday was a fine day the sun was out, it was about 80 and I spent a good part of the day with Scott and Guinn. We went to go and see Cars, the new Pixar film. I enjoyed the movie but I had a terrible headache and that probably hindered me from fully enjoying it. I have decided to go and watch it one more time. The rest of the day was spent taking them shopping and concluding the evening with a viewing of Red Asphalt. I have been waiting for a long time to see this series of movies regarding road safety. I was expecting a lot of gore, blood, maybe a lost limb or two but in the original movie (made sometime in the 50's) it was quite tame but they showed a lot of blood. The second movie was just as tame (made in '79 or '80) but I do believe we saw a motorcyclist on the ground with a knee injury and I got to see bone. The best part of the 2nd movie is that when they were taking a dead guy from his vehicle the entire lower half of his jaw was just hanging there, pretty cool. The 3rd movie was hella hella cheesy, bad acting all around but it gave me what I was looking for, a decapitation. this one was more bloody and more gory that the first 2 but still; the acting was so damn cheesy and over done. Now the 4th movie was the worst. It seemed to me that it was made as a drivers ed movie that was obvious, but they were focusing more on the story rather than showing clips from accidents. I would recommend getting this set of movies just because it is difficult to find them anymore. But I also have to say that I have a higher constitution for blood and guts and brains on the pavement.....you may not so keep that in mind
