I went to Weber tonight to look at the chair placement, and expecting to be maybe second to last or so in Wind Ensemble, I was surprised! I got 3rd, principle of 2nd part, which kicks ass. I'm the only frehman in the clarinets, so that's cool, too. I'm so excited! Funny story-
For the sight reading part of the audition, I heard the guy who went before me playng "Incantation and Dance" at which point I was pumped to know the sight reading material! I started playng it quietly out in the hall, then went in and did the first parts of my audition. Then we got to the sightreading and Dr. Eaton said "Was that you playing 'Incantation' out in the hall?" and I hesitantly said yes...so he said he couldn't let me sightread that. So he pulls up another piece and this just made me laugh. It was "Rocky Point Holliday" hahahahaha! I told him I am also familiar with this piece, and so I did well on that. So those are 2 reasons to come to the concert in November- Incantation and Rocky Point. And to see me, ha. But anyway, I played 3rd part on Incantation in all state my first year, then 1st in band last year, now 2nd part. That's amusing.
It has been quite a joyous few days.
