I MET EMERSON & BEN!
Just now! I met Emerson Spartz and Ben Schoen at Borders. They were there for the MuggleNet Book Tour! I was so excited. I promised that I wouldn't scream or act like a crazy fangirl -- Let's just say, promises were made to be broken. For those of you who care, click to read what happened!
Emerson and Ben were running an hour late, so all of us girls (and like 4 boys) got a little restless. We (the girls, mainly) started freaking out, but then started talking about MuggleNet, MuggleCast, and Harry Potter in general. A few minutes later, some girl's phone started ringing. "It's Emerson!" she screamed. Then everyone around her started screaming. She said that Emerson told her that they were running late and to "sit tight," or something. Apparently she didn't know Emerson personally, but she'd called him before. It was exciting, all the same.
So anyway, we sat and talked for a bit, while some girl sitting in front of me periodically yelled out how many minutes there were until 3:00 (when the boys were supposed to arrive).
They arrived and everyone freaked out. We screamed and cheered. Ben and Emerson said that we were one of the most energetic crowds they'd had. They started talking, but the microphones started messing up. It was actually pretty funny. So after they talked and answered questions they told us that the prizes and stuff they were going to give away didn't arrive at the store. It was upsetting initially, but I got over it.
Then we waited in line to get our books signed. It was so weird, to be that close to Emerson Spartz and Ben Schoen. It was surreal...Anyway, got my picture taken and my book signed (I made a point of telling both Emerson and Ben that I liked them wayyy more than Jamie, which Ben seemed pleased about). Then I waited for my friends, who were toward the end of the line, to get their books signed, so I could take a photo of them. After they got their photos taken, we sat in the now-empty audience to wait for my mom. (OK, HERE COMES THE MOST EXCITING PART) While we sat there (probably smiling blankly like idiots) Emerson asked, "Hey, you girls wanna help us with something?" And OF COURSE we said yes. We helped them in this sort of book-signing assembly line. I stood in-between Ben and Emerson...Gah. Yep. Afterwards, Emerson gave me a hug.
As I was leaving, Ben was sitting outside in front of the store and I waved bye to him (because you NEEDED to know that).
Basically, this was a super-awesome-amazing-wonderful day. I'll post some photos later!
