Ingredients:

For the filling:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, diced
Salt & pepper
olive oil

For the dough:
4 cups flour
2 eggs
1 pint half & half (plus a couple tbsp milk if needed)
pinch of salt
Oil for frying

Directions:

1. In medium pan, heat 1 TBSP olive oil on med heat.
2. Add onion and garlic to heated oil, saute for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add ground beef. Season with salt & pepper. Cook until just brown. Drain.
4. Set filling aside to cool a bit while you're making the dough.
5. Start heating 3" of frying oil to 350F in a deep pot or fondue pot.
6. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, egg, and a pinch of salt.
7. Mix in half & half a couple tbsp at a time until the dough is sticky but manageable.
8. Put dough on a floured surface and knead a few times until no longer sticky. Divide into 8 (or 4 if you halved the recipe) balls.
9. Using a floured rolling pin, roll out each ball into a 6" diameter circle, the dough should be thin but not so thin it will tear when folded.
10. Place a generous amount of filling on one side of each circle.
11. Fold dough over and pinch edges closed.
12. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, until dough is golden.
13. Drain on a paper towel for a minute or so.
