working class hero
so there i was...standing inside the front door of alfredo's mexican cafe waiting for some guy named victor, one of the three managers...after about 20 min. we met & went into the office in the back for my interview. since the other two managers couldn't be there, i had to write down my answers to all 32 questions...that's a lot better than being interrogated by three people at once...i was fine with it. then came the menu test...do you know what flan is? victor was very upset that i left that one blank, but i managed to get 56 out of 68 questions right...oh yeaaaahhhh!
after looking over my answers to the interview questions & the menu test...victor asked me when i could start. i am sooooooo glad that i got hired. i really need some cash. saturday night i made about $60, & monday i made about $45. last night was pretty rough...turns out i wasn't actually supposed to work like victor told me, because ricardo (another manager) accidentally put too many waiters on the schedule. so instead of getting to wait on 4 or 5 tables...i had 2...yeah 2...i was pissed. i was there from 6-9:30 & we weren't busy at all...i made $19...but things are looking up. even though i'm tired all the time & i'm working like 75 hours a week...i'm making some extra cash that i really need, & i work again tonight...ricardo said that i'll definitely get at least 4 or 5 tables tonight. i hope so.
