This middle-aged man hit on me today, while i was working at Jamba Juice.
I was at the regester, and we began talking, about superficial subjects, saying witty and expected remarks. The kind of banter that only those in a customer/server relationship have.
Then, he leaned towards me and said quietly "Come here."
I leaned in closer and he said "You are totally cute."... etc. etc.
He then gave me his card.
it reads:
ROBERT TAYAC
ATTORNEY AT LAW
(followed by his address, telephone and fax number)
(oh yeah, and his e-mail, which is just his first initial and his last name @ something.com)
He said, "I'll take you out to dinner"... and i said "alright. maybe", still laughing out of shock sort of.
He looked older than my dad.
If i did go out to dinner, i can imagine it seem like the dinner in "Requiem For A Dream" when Marion goes out w/ her shrink.
It was just interesting.
A lot of people my age judge me on what i wear, how i hold myself, what i'm doing with myself.
What my shoes look like. How dirty my jeans are. If i'm smoking. If i'm wearing rave bracelets. How(if) i wear makeup.
But this man judged me solely on how i acted and looked, even though when i'm working at register, it's a mildly insincere form of cheerfulness.
This man doesn't know that i tag on the sides of buildings and sidewalks.
This man doesn't know that i used to be really into drugs.
This man doesn't know that I skateboarded to work.
and if he did... would he still have asked me on a date?
i dunno. it was just interesting.
thought provoking.
thank robert tayac.
thank you.
