Over a year since I posted, and yet here close my birthday I find myself compelled to write and talk, talk and type, type and listen. The syncopated tapping of my keys on the keyboard is one of the few sounds I can actually hear. The other would be the mechanical squawking of the heater outside as it struggles to keep me warm.
Its so stupidly QUIET in my apartment that it drives me crazy. Going from my BIG LOUD HOUSE to my super quiet apartment, which was pretty unsettling at first. I'm something of a home body. My house in Adamstown as all the superior graces of elevated middle class living, but that's besides the point. The point is, there's noise, a dog to pet, sisters to talk to and play with, parents to upset, and a girl to fight with. *Just kidding MLE!*
Here it's just me, alone with my computer, my books and my class. Its new to me. Considering for awhile I slept with the TV on just so I could listen to something as I went to sleep, this drastic change has certainly taken its toll. I jump at noises and pace nervously, almost as if I'm waiting for something, but what I can't be sure.
At least my iPOD is helping along. Despite being on random it is managing to pick music that isn't entirely unappealing.
I know what you're thinking; "Chris, go hang out with you Towson friends!" Well dear reader, that would be a capital idea, but I'm the only one taking this minimester, that's sort of out of the question.
I appreciate the enthusiasm though.
Scanning my pictures I found a few from when I played the part of Kristoff Momonza, scared wanderer of the streets of LA and looking for answers to all my questions. Stumbling onto the Sunset Bulv. Scientology HQ, I played this identity to see how far in I could get. Once I get those uploaded maybe I'll write that story up. Its a pretty good one, with plot twists, intrigue, and my own personal chase scene. Ok, well, it wasnt really a chase scene, it was my bubbly ass running away terrified as the scientologists called out "CHRIS!? WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" but I assure you, it was pretty terrifying.
Even though all Emily and I did was eat and sleep, I still find that trip to be a pretty awesome one. Something about getting there at 5 AM and driving through a city we've never seen to a place we've never been to listening to the legendary KROQ and eating sour apples just tickles me so. In retrospect, must have just been one of those times you grab a bat, and swing life away. Yay Rise against!
For now, I take my leave, but who knows, tomorrow is a new day, and I hope to write more!
