saw a SICK ass band last night.
jazz/funk with hip-hop and ska/big band influence. lead singer was also the drummer. had a dj scratching and spinning, as well as a 3-piece HORN section. SO MUCH FUN!
but sooooo few people there. had i been with my cousins, or my girls from home, we would've been seriously GROOVING. hehe.
a group of girls, friends of the band, all got up dancing and whatnot. and i was practically dancing in my chair. hehe.
and i've decided that akwardly geeky sax players with thick-framed glasses who dance offbeat and DON'T CARE are pretty hot.
I've seen live music SO many times in the recent weeks. and still more to come!
tonight again, actually (Bt4 and others at GZ). and then tomorrow night (a capella concert). . . and so far i plan to go twice more when i'm home for spring break (dexter danger and tragedy andy @ bottom of the hill and a capella @ stanford). and once again when i'm back in LA after break (AUGUSTANA @ the TROUBADOR!!). best part is most are between free and 10 bucks. yessss.
oh, and i've seen all of school of theatre's stuff, too! i'm a good little member of the arts community, eh?
oh wait. live music. i also sang on friday night. hehe. nothing big. just a broadway-themed program in our dorm. the vocal majors are FUCKN RIDICULOUS!!!!!
so i didn't get the job doing marketing for Spectrum, USC's arts organization. . . but hopefully i'll be working concert PROMO for ground zero =) i guess that's why i DIDN'T get the spectrum job. i'm supposed to get this one. maybe. and still get another random work study job, because i still need it.
but seriously, this past month and especially this week, you'd think i lived at ground zero. i need to work there. yeah.
and this week i start in-studio at the radio station. 10pm-midnight. sucky hours but it'll do. i'll be doing more things at (hopefully) better hours as an intern there. so YAY.
and that's basically all that's new with me.
been done with all the big projects, papers, and midterms. . . for now. just reading (which i've been relatively caught up on. except today. haha). but it'll start up once again and slap me in the face once break is done.
can't wait to go home and hang with the HOMiEs!! they make me so ridiculously HAPPY =D i lovvvvvvvvvve you!
