I saw about a gagillion bands this weekend and at the risk of sounding Pitchfork-esque, only two were even remotely interesting/inspired/good.
The Lab Rats - a hip hop act from Columbus, Ohio. Live instrumentation, a frontman sounding a bit like Eminem who remembered to take his prozac. But great rhymes, really clever, witty stuff and the DJ knew what he was supposed to do.
Infinite Number of Sounds - kind of a electronic space rock act. Geek music to be sure. Reminded me of U.N.K.L.E.'s more organic stuff.
Still, I did have a good time going from venue to venue, seeing old friends, [name drop]talking Nightwaves with John Curley[/name drop] and eating my first big red smokey in years.
Plus, it has been for-fucking-ever, since I've had some slobbering drunk, Asian fetishist poke me in the hip with his boner. Those, my friends, are times to remember, because they will not last forever.
