S**t Week!

Since the news has obviously not filtered through, here's the heads up! Tuesday night / morning - We rushed Chris into hospital with what appeared to be appendicitis - turned out to be gastritis, which not all doctors recognise and can be damnasty! Luckily, ur Asian doctor recognised it straight away, put him on a drip, even though he wasn't dehydrated - this stops well- meaning nursed from pressuring him to 'take a sip of water' which comes straight back! His digestive system rested, we escaped at about 7 am, before a changeover and more delays. Sterling people - and Chris did not hopefully post the pic of me asleep on the one comfy chair! A few catnaps and finally slept properly after 36 hours. Chris went to college the next day and was told to gerrofome! He is receiving work from his lecturers - tired but sorted!
Ed and Bill went for their walk the next day, and Ed was obviously unwell, stopping and in pain. He was taken to the vets and held back for x-rays and observations. He was sedated, so we had to wait for 6 hours to pick him up. I have seen the x-ray of his heart and , what was a heart murmur has become cardiomyopathy, his heart is much enlarged on one side, and he has fluid on his lungs. He will have to be on medication for the rest of his life. He showed signs of improvement by the next morning, and is p*****g like a goon due to the diuretics. His check up this morning went well. As for the cost of all this? Every three months we have a prescription for a nominal charge, which we send to a supply company, and we get the drugs for much less - this is for life, and I cosider it a small price to pay - less than a pound a day for a little dog with a big heart that needs help to work!
Nurse Bill is being lovely to him, and keeps him happy - Us? just another thing to get our heads round to!
