If you are a "sound guy", you should probably know something about sound.

When you run a "sound check", you should probably be checking the sound.

When you devise a plan concerning microphone placement, you should probably stick to that plan. Also, communicate any changes to the band in question.

"Sound Guys" use these things called "mixing boards". When the band in question only needs NINE channels to perform their set, mixing them doesn't involve fuzzy math or gradient calculation.

My apologies for the negative vibe. Hopefully, nobody reading this post actually learned anything *new* about sound.

Except, of course, our sound guy at O'Gara's tonight.
