Anyway, that's why this is late. I just wanted to write down some thoughts on Michael Jackson.
I wasn't a big fan of his by any stretch, but I do like some of his music. He was just starting into the Thriller era when I was born. I remember liking his song from the movie Free Willy when I was little as well, when I was old enough to know who he was. He had a unique voice, and brilliant dance moves, and his songs often had a message of love and hope. And I never even had cable when I was growing up so I never got to see any of his stuff on MTV when it first came out.
No matter what you thought of him, there is no question that he was a living legend. He was different, and he made the whole world pay attention to him; you couldn't help but take notice every time he was in the news. I don't know if he was guilty of the accusations or not, but I like to think it was just some people out to get money from him.
Here's a guy who grew up being famous and never really got to lead a normal childhood. So I can't help feeling a little sad. I mean, he was kind of one of those people you thought would never die, you know? And that was just the way he would have wanted it. The music world will never be the same without him.
