So, last night was the Ozzy Osbourne concert. It was pretty good. Me and Shane and Amii drove to Shane's aunt's house, and she was able to give us a ride there. Well, almost; she dropped us off a few blocks away on Hennepin Ave, right by the Orpheum Theater, so we had to walk. Good thing it wasn't THAT cold out last night. Why are all the good shows in the middle of winter?!
Anyway, the opening act was supposed to be Slash, but he canceled the day before and I haven't heard why. Lame. Oh well, F#$% him; I like his playing (and his tophat :P), but he's not really one of my favorite people in the music world. So there was no opening act.
Ozzy went on around 8:15; there was a short film with him parodying different movies and such, which included Avatar, Jersey Shore (lots of people booed the Jersey Shore part, it was awesome XD), Twilight and something else.
He opened with "Bark at the Moon", and also did "Let Me Hear You Scream", "I Don't Know", "I Don't Want to Change the World", "Suicide Solution", "Mr. Crowley", "Road to Nowhere", "Iron Man", "Crazy Train", "War Pigs", "Paranoid", "Mama I'm Coming Home", and a couple others I wasn't that familiar with.
There was also an extended guitar solo and a drum solo. Both the guitarists had real long hair, and there were fans on the stage which they'd stand near them so that it would blow their hair around; it was kind of funny. ^_^
I managed to get a few pictures, but I think I need to either get a better digital camera, or a smart phone with a decent camera. (Click to see larger photos!)
So that was that. People were complaining afterward that he sucked, and yeah at first he sounded kinda crappy but then it got better. Anyway of course he's not going to sound like he did 40 years ago, what do you expect? And who cares anyway, it's freaking OZZY!!! I just want to see as many of my heroes live as I can. XD
I even got out my black nail polish, which I haven't worn for years, because I thought it was appropriate. ^_^ I used to wear nail polish all the time but I haven't for years just because the nature of my jobs just hasn't allowed for it. But I'm going to leave it and see if my coworkers say anything tomorrow. >:D Some of the other women have come in with nail polish on and not got in trouble, but I wanna see if they freak out because I have black polish, because I'm evil like that. XD
OK, I think that was all I had to say about the concert.
