I Am In the Library Studying for My Accounting Final...

...but I am really distracted by this girl who is sitting across from me. She has her nose pierced, with an earing going through the center of her nose, with two balls hanging down out of each nostril. It looks like she has two silver boogers coming out of her nose. Why would someone get a piercing like that, seriously? Doesn't she know that it looks awful? Plus, doesn't she realize how distracting it is to look at someone with such a wierd thing on their face? I feel fairly confident that no one can look at her without staring right at her nose. I don't know about you, but if people constantly looked at my nose, I think I'd feel awkward. And on the subject of wierd piercings, here are a few others I have encountered lately:

The girl who lives next door to me has four piercings in her belly button. FOUR! One on top, one on bottom, and one on both sides. It's so bizzare. Whoerever thought such things could be possible?

To delve into further wierdness, my roommate has one of her nipples pierced. Not both, just one. First of all, WHY?? For God's sake, WHY on earth would anyone want to do that to themselves? I am really just completely baffled. And why just get one done? Shouldn't you at least try to make it symmetrical or something? I don't know, I just think the whole business of bodily piercings is so odd. I have one hole in each ears, and that's as far as I'm willing to go, thank you very much.

One a similar subject, tattoos seem to be extremely popular among college students. I have a friend who just got one on her lower back. She intended to keep it a secret from her parents, but when she went home for easter her mom walked in on her in the bathroom and saw it. Apparantly her mom ran away crying, and the two of them are barely on speaking terms even now. I guess her parents also threatened to stop paying her tuition because they "can't trust her" anymore. Geeze. All that just for some stupid brand on your body. I guess the whole piercing and tattooing business is one aspect of human culture that I will never fully comprehend.

Well I should actually get back to studying now. I'm just really getting ancy because I've pretty much been in the library all day and I get somewhat on edge after awhile.
Anyone else out there with tests coming up, best of luck to you!!
