It has been a rockin' week for me and Jason. We went to see a good friend Dave ( bassbeast) perform with his band Nor Reason at Andy Poolhall on Wednesday night. It was their debut performance. Their original debut performance was actually supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago but it fell on the same night as the biggest snowstorm of the season that virtually shut down the city. How's that for ominious beginnings? But fortunately you can't keep a good band down and they gave a really awesomely loud performance Wednesday night. They've already got date planned to play Cameron House and The Drake, so make sure to visit their website if you're interested in seeing them (if you're in Toronto). Way to go Dave!
And last night Jason and I also went to go see Electric Six at Lee's Palace. The band didn't actually go on until 11-- there were some other bands playing before them-- we caught the end of the second band I wasn't too impressed mainly because of the lead singer. But Electric Six was awesome. We met up with other friends redknot and hopping_v who regaled us with his awesome adventures in San Francisco, or at least the gaming conventions he went to while he was there. We moshed into the night and had a wonderful time. I didn't know half the songs that they were performing but I got so into the music and atmosphere that I just lost myself much to the amusement of my buddies.
Thankfully I'm off today and it looks gorgeous out. I'm thinking of going out for a haircut and colour and heading to the North York library for some local inspiration. I'll be working again this weekend so better get the good times in now.
