Christine The Librarian

I think it's just the season for keeping a low profile. A few of my frequent-poster friends have been taking a hiatus from livejournaling and opting for the outdoors and for that I offer a hefty hip hip hooray...even if it does mean knowing less about what people are up to. I've been taking a hiatus as well though I don't know that I've been getting enough sun.

Few things to talk about outside of working for a living but one exciting thing that's cropped up is the possibility of going back to university to upgrade my art history minor to a major. It occurred to me that I was 2 full credits short of an upgrade and between English and Art History I always had a greater affection for the latter even though I majored in the former. But why go back at all when I've got many libraries at my disposal anytime I have the inkling to inflate my art-history ego? Well, I've been doing a lot of thinking about what I'd like to do for the rest of my life and as sure as I am that I want to create art (and will most likely continue to do so) financially I'd like to have a more secure base. It may not sound glamourous, but I'm thinking of throwing my hat into the exciting world of Information Studies, for which I need a masters degree, but before I can apply I need to bring up my GPA, hence my going back to school. It's all up in the air right now but I'm excited nonetheless. I put in my application this morning for a non-degree admission-- only I will have to attend the Scarborough Campus if I get in as the St.George campus registration is already closed.

It's all still very daunting. I kind of a made my decision over a fortnight, but at the very least I will be very happy if I can at least upgrade my minor. I still need to do some research as to whether a Masters program is truly for me but at least I'm building a path in the meantime.
