FIRST COMPETITION
hey! so yesterday was our first competition! well first we had the haverford township day parade and that was kind of fun, but we only had like an hour to get lunch and then we had to go to practice. it was rough practice because we had to set up the backdrop of the banners and flags then we had to go through the show and we kept messing up so we got yelled at so many times, it was rough and hot (i got really bad sunburn). then we had like an hour for lunch and we had to go. the bus ride was fun i sat wit my freshman, will. i love that kid! then the bad thing happened, when we got to the competition we were told that the truck with all our instruments broke down!! we didnt even know if we were going to be able to perform! so we warmed up our bodies and sang through our show. after that there was nothing else to do because we didnt have our instruments so we just sat there for about 30 minutes. then we found out that our instruments finally came so we marched to get them and marched back to where we were. after warming up for literally 5 minutes we went on the field to perform. we did okay but not our best and we didnt have our backdrop because the parents went to the truck and brought all the instruments but there was no room for the bases for the flags. afterwards i saw someone from AMA which really excited me so i hung out with him the whole time until the host band came out to perform. we ended up getting first place with a score of 79.4 which is a good score for a first competition. we r now in 13th place overall, which is okay now. we'll do better this coming saturday. well i g2g i'll update later.
