I am still very highly amused from this event that happened last night. So I will post it and therefore tell everybody else my highly amusing story.
I got off the T at Coolidge yesterday (this is no different than normal), and I ended up following some guy down Pleasant St to get back home. (This is also quite normal). HOWEVER, this person happened to be text messaging somebody, which normally is none of my business, but it plays a large part in my highly amusing story. We get a couple blocks down Pleasant St (for those who are familiar with the area - where the old library used to be but now there are a lot of old people hanging out there), and this person walking slightly in front of me runs straight into a pole. Like full force, head on, straight into a pole. Now this isn't one of those poles that's very solid and doesn't move. Oh no, this pole is one that shakes and the sign on it makes really loud noises, so not only did he just run into a pole but the pole reacted in a very loud way... I felt kind of bad that I didn't stop at all to ask if he was ok, but I ended up catching up to him (like walking a foot next to him), when he recovered from the pole and he proceeded to pretty much take off at a very fast racewalking speed the next couple of blocks until he got home. I smiled a lot to myself, and I had a very hard time trying not to laugh out loud. Needless to say, he put away his phone and stopped text messaging after his pole escapade. I'm still chuckling to myself.
