1. I've been consumed by the raging fires of awesome that is Mass Effect 3. Finished playing through it once through an intense marathon effort on Narrative mode (the level of combat below 'Easy' that requires you to do nothing more than jam on buttons to survive) and immediately started a second play-through to catch all the details I missed. I can't believe the trilogy is over; in a way, I'm more sad to lose the characters and my relationships through them via my avatar Sheppard than I am about the game ending. Powerful writing and acting is what made that kind of attachment possible; I think I cried through a good quarter of the game.
2. It's been a strangely busy day. Through an odd confluence of events, my
Etsy shop got a lot of attention, a ton of favorites, and no new sales. I had an auction at Tophatter set up for a
unicorn miniature, which sold. I am pleased about this, though the buyer hasn't paid yet.
Also,
another one of my unicorn miniatures appeared in the Etsy Finds newsletter--to my great surprise. I also think my
vintage purse AND the latter unicorn miniature ended up in Treasury lists that made the front page in the past couple of days, which resulted in yet more views and favorites.
So basically, my views skyrocketed to a staggering 1104 in one day (I typically get 75-150 views on my listings per day), my shop got 7 new admirers, and 24 of my items got at least one new admirer. Zero new sales. While free exposure is great, more views and eyeballs are great, and hopefully some of those viewers will eventually turn into buyers, my lull in selling continues. Ah well, at least there's always Tophatter (an auction site where I'm pretty sure I can sell individual miniatures one at a time). Hopefully, next time I'll be able to attend the actual auction and make my sales pitch.
3. Am continuing to sell DVDs on Amazon. Nothing new to report, other than that a few more sold, which is great. My pile of DVDs is dwindling to manageable levels.
4. Went to Laduree and purchased an assortment of their colorful macarons as well as a madeleine (delicious). I haven't tried them yet, but they look so pretty in their box. I also stopped at the Wafles and Dinges cart to pick up a jar of Speculoos spread (yum) and Belgian hot chocolate (also yum). I went with friend J to have afternoon tea at King's Carriage House, which was cute and fun, and then took a walk around Central Park to exercise off some of the sweets.
