Summer Movies

Ok. I'm bored at work. And when bored at work I often like to paruse the Yahoo Movies web page. Let's talk about the summer movies I am excited about seeing...

Now we've already had the big trilogys come out. Shrek 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, and Spiderman 3. CRAP FEST 2007. I mean, Shrek 3 was ok but given the choice I would rather watch the first two. Spiderman 3 was so-so. I've never been a huge fan of these movies so my perspective was a bit skewed but from the comments I heard from those I saw it with it didn't stack up the to other two. And don't even get me started on Pirates of the Caribbean 3. I didn't even watch the whole thing. What was it even about? I was lost the entire time.

However, in the coming weeks, I think we have some super movies coming out. Of course there is Harry Potter which comes out on July 11th (less than 1 month!). We know this is going to be good. Clearly lots of stuff from the book will be left out but that is to be expected when you make a 900 page, 80 pound book into a movie. But, hello? Have you seen the trailers? I nearly pee every time I see one! And don't even get me started on the sexual attraction I feel towards half of those characters. Harry, ugh. And Gary Oldman? SEXY!!! So if nothing else there will be some eye candy.

I'm also very excited to see Evan Almighty. I love Steve Carell. And I really enjoyed Bruce Almighty so I can't see this being too bad. Just looking at the production photos online makes me laugh.

And then there is the little movie Knocked Up which probably wasn't meant to be a summer blockbuster but which is doing pretty well and I think it looks adorable. I can't wait to see this one. Besides it stars, Katherine Heigl who I adore. She's precious.

Oh and I almost forgot Oceans 13. Now, I'm still on the fence with this one. Honestly I'll probably wait for it to come out on video. Oceans 12 was pretty good although that whole thing with Julia Roberts was just silly. I can't help but wonder how silly and kind of ridiculous this one will be. I wonder if this will end up in the list with the other trilogy movies?

So there you go. Three movies which I really want to see. Of course given my current financial situation and the fact that a night at the movies runs around $50, I'll probably have to wait for these to come out on video. Poo.
